Thanks to all who turned out for my presentation on "Your Personal Stress Profile"!

Your energy and participation really enhanced the information I shared.

The feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive, with many comments that understanding your Stress Personality and having practical, customized Stress Busters was valuable and empowering information.

Some Background

I agree with Auntie Mame that life's a banquet and many of us are starving.

I've always had a knack for understanding what other people are "hungry" for, and always felt the desire to help.

When I came of age, though, computers were just beginning to be used widely and what they could do seemed so interesting and practical.

So I studied Information Technology, and worked happily in that field for over a decade.

When my zest for that started to fade, I looked around and re-discovered my talent for recognizing when and why people are hurting. Over the years, my understanding and empathy had already led me to gather and develop strategies and techniques to better accomplish the most important of our needs: a good relationship with our own self and the important people around us.

So I went back to school and added formal training through a Master's degree in Counseling and Psychology at the Adler Graduate School.

Training is not enough, though—neither to satisfy my commitment to excellence, nor my belief that my profession needs to demonstrate accountability to clients and their positive results. I use a very simple and effective means of following your progress to keep me on track in serving you in achieving your goals. You'll hear more about this when you make an appointment with me.

Explore my website and contact me with any questions.

I look forward to hearing from you!

How I Work

My approach is unique to each client and his/her situation and goals. What works best, I have found, is collaborating with clients. I contribute my specialized knowledge in ways that will complement my client's style, perspective, and values.

On my side:

I will listen carefully and strive to understand your perspective and needs. I will consider your unique situation and circumstances as I carefully design my approach. I will offer useful information, including pointing out what I notice and what I know about how we human beings "tick". I ask good questions and help you develop whatever you need to, so you can successfully handle whatever you are facing in your life. My style blends in elements of facilitator, catalyst, consultant, educator.

On your side:

You determine the goals and set the pace. You decide the scope--some clients want to work on a specific, clearly defined challenge, others prefer a broader approach where several interconnected issues are addressed. You can influence your progress through your honesty and willingness to try new things. Your preference for how often we meet will also affect the results. Your feedback to me on how we are doing will help me tailor my approach to be as helpful as possible.

A few details:

In case you'd like to know which therapy models I favor, they include strengths-based, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, systems, experiential, narrative, mindfulness, attachment, and Adlerian.

In addition, I follow the latest findings in neuroscience and biology. These fields are increasing our understanding about the functioning between mind and body, and environment.

That all sounds rather theoretical, doesn't it? Don't worry, I keep it behind-the-scenes. In the office we emphasize the practical and concrete.

A Final Word

I'm in this field because I'm passionate about helping people with the things that matter deeply to them. I appreciate the trust placed in me, and am grateful for the opportunity to grow my business through providing outstanding service and value. If you know someone who can benefit from my services, please share my information with them.
